5/8/10 - Blane will be graduating from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (PETE) and a cognate in Health Education.

2/20/10 - Blane ended his coaching stay at Bloomington North.  He ended with a wrestler, Shawn Miracle, finishing 5th at the Indiana High School State Finals in the 130 lb division.  Shawn was selected to represent Indiana in the Indiana vs Illinois dual.

5/1/06 - The wrestling season ended March 18, 2006 and IU brought home a 2 time National Champ in Joe Dubuque. I was his backup this year, and was 11-12 for my first year of college wrestling. I replaced Joe one time, and that was against Michigan. I lost the match, but it was exciting and I learned a lot of stuff about Big Ten varsity wrestling. I am looking forward to next year.

11/26/05 - IU traveled over to Lock Haven Pennsylvania for the Mat Town USA tournament. It was the first team scoring tournament and we could only take 20 wrestlers. I was lucky enough to be able to compete as IU sent four 125 pounders. I was in the tournament with IU's own Joe Dubuque, the returning National Champion. My first round I drew into the #18 ranked wrestler in the country from Lock Haven and I felt I was competing with him when he caught me and pinned me. It was only 4-1 at the time. I really thought I wrestled well against him. My 2nd match of the day I won but it was a different way of winning that what I was used to. I was leading the entire match and was able to rack up over 2 minutes of riding time(me controlling him and keeping him down). At the end of the match the kid took me down to tie the match at 7. But however I had over a minute advantage of riding time and I received a point bonus. I won the match 8-7. My last match of the day not a good match and I was thrown to my back and pinned early. Later in the day Joe, the #1 ranked kid in the nation from IU won the tournament at 125 lbs. Also IU won the tournament by 40 points over Buffalo and Oregon.

11/20/05 - This weekend, IU had its first tournament on the actual schedule. We traveled west to Missouri University. I wrestled in the Freshman/Sophomore division and again in the 125 pound class. I opened up the tournament very sloppy and ended up losing a match I should have ended early. My 2nd match was an easy win, recording my first collegiate pin. My next match was a hard fought match. It was tied 1-1 with about 20 seconds to go when I hit a deep shot that took him to his back and was able to hold that for the win 6-1. My last match ended ugly in a 21-11 loss. I ended 2-2 and I did not feel very happy about the day.

11/15/05 - IU had its annual intra-squad meet. I was to wrestle off against a freshman that I had already defeated once this year at Eastern Michigan 15-13. I turned up the heat on him this time and managed a 5-3 lead at the end of the 1st period. I rode him out the 2nd period, and for the 3rd period I racked up 5 more points and a bonus point for having more than a minute advantage in riding time. I won 11-4. This does not count on my record.

11/12/05 & 11/13/05 - This weekend IU sent 7 guys up to Michigan St. (East Lansing, MI) 6 of us placed. I was suppose to wrestle a kid from Ohio St. first round but he never showed up so I chalked up a win and advanced to the 2nd round. I then was matched up against the starter for Michigan University, I was holding my own until he put me on my back and finished the match in the 2nd period. I was then bounced into the loser's bracket. I had to wrestle another Michigan kid only this time, with the backing of the IU volleyball team in my corner, I picked up a win. I drew a Mich. St. wrestler next which I beat fairly easily. The next match was suppose to be against the #2 seed of the tournament and a varsity wrestler of Northwestern. He Injury Defaulted to me which gave me another win and advanced me into the 2nd day.

By advancing into the 2nd day, I was able to make sure that I placed. I opened the 2nd day with the #3 seed and the varsity wrestler from Central Michigan. He beat on me pretty good. The loss put me into a match up for 7th. I ended up losing that match as well and placing 8th. I was happy making it to the 2nd day and placing. That was my goal and now we move onto Missouri. I will now try and improve on my 8th place finish. I have a record of 6-5.

11/5/2005 - Indiana wrestling has started and the first tournament was this weekend (November 5th). 11 of us made the trip to Eastern Michigan University (Ypsilanti, MI). I wrestled in the smallest collegiate weight class of 125 pounds. I feel that I got off to a great start and knocked the rust off after sitting out for one year. I finished the day 2-2. IU had one champ, a runner up, and also a 3rd place finisher.

9/12/2005 - Pre-Season has officially began.
